Kato’s respect for denim reaches back decades. Their years of experience and research resulted in their version of the sought-after denim of the 50s-70s. They craft these fabrics with meticulous precision to replicate the uniform texture of the faded vintage denim collected for the Kato archives.
They had a vision of a new denim. After an extended search they found only one mill in Japan that could make it. Usually nep denim uses polyester in the fabric to make the neppy appearance but they wanted it to be an all natural 100% cotton denim.
Featuring narrow 1/8th inch stitching that lends a slightly more refined look to the jeans. A two-tone yoke thread design gives the appearance of a vintage single stitched yoke while maintaining the durability of a double felled seam. The narrow watch pocket is another throwback to the original.
Medium-rise straight cut and a slight taper through the leg. Old Nep Indigo 100% cotton 13oz Japanese Selvedge, button fly, premium leather patch, and custom-branded hardware. Made in USA.
